Baits can be in the form of thick, sticky glues. One can place these in the common habitat areas of cockroaches like dark corners and specific paths to trap them down. Presence of smaller insects in dirt can also attract them as food. Hence, clear all dirt lying in and around the house to get rid of them and starve them.
Get rid of sheltering areas. They mostly prefer dark areas in the house. Cracks and holes are a good hiding place for cockroaches. Many cockroaches could stay in a small hole that is dark and holds enough space for them. By covering up all these cracks one can easily get rid of them. Make sure light reaches all corners of the house. The ceiling should also be sealed to prevent roaches from sneaking into the house.
Inspect the house. This is best done at night when they are likely to come out. Noticing one breed would mean a possible infestation. Find egg cases or a musty smell they could lead you to their shelter. To avoid health complications get rid of droppings by vacuum cleaning them especially for people with asthma.
